Darv is a scatter-brained collector who rode into the Spire on his trusty steed after catching the scent of treasure when it reopened. His blessing pool is essentially the classic Boss Relic collection from the first game, offering foundational, run-defining mechanics without convoluted gimmicks. He recognizes returning adventurers and maintains character-specific banter about their gear and motivations.
Blessing Strategy
Darv is the "safe" Ancient, providing well-tested mechanics. Runic Pyramid (retain your hand between turns) unlocks powerful combo potential. Empty Cage (remove 2 cards) is superb for tightening your deck. Ectoplasm grants energy but blocks gold gain — usually a worthwhile trade in Act 2. Exercise caution with Snecko Eye (randomized card costs) and Sozu (blocks potions). Pandora's Box (transform all Strikes and Defends) is high-variance but can reshape a run entirely.

Encounter Choices
Darv, 'The Hoarder', is unique — he can appear in both Act 2 and Act 3. He offers 3 blessings from a pool of 10 (8 shared across acts + 2 act-specific). His offerings include powerful classics like Snecko Eye, Runic Pyramid, and Pandora's Box, often with significant tradeoffs.

Upon pickup, Transform 3 3, then Upgrade them.
Elites drop an additional Relic when defeated.
Upon pickup, obtain a unique Curse and 3 Relics.
